Schools almost over

Well the end is near along with finalswhich no one likes. Ive actually learned to dread finals due to 1st semester finals. during our 200 questions english final i happened to be sick, and the cough caused my ears to get blocked up. Next thing you know everyone is looking around the room, searching for the source of a fimiliar noise. The teacher stormed the rows ears like satilites except now these satilites were trying to pinpoint the location of the noise that every highschool teacher hates, the noise of a phone. She sensed a disturbence in the force.

meanwhile I just sat at my desk having not the slightest clue as to what was going on. I didnt hear any phone and i did not take heed as my teacher gave a warning to perpotrator of this”crime” to turn thier phone off. So i sat isolated deep within the questions of this trecharous final not knowing that MY phone was causing all the raucous, not knowing that i had distracted my peers from perhaps the most insane test of their lives. I was in every way clueless.

It was then that i looked up to see my teacher standing in my area. what did i do? she sat listening for the phone noise which i had now figuerd out was the dying tone(for the phone not for me). Her word were vapor in the wind until i heard the words coming from a cloe-by friend of mine. “someones phone is dying,” he told me. I gulped i knew i had to be me.  I had recently had to take apart and dry my phone due to an earlier encounter it had with the washer and dryer. It worked fine but the one problem was that it would not turn off.  I remember the one life bar i had seen this morning. now what?

I was stuck the warning had gone by and now  my teacher would surely get beyond furious so much so that she might of had an anurism. I did what had to be done, i played it off like a champ. just kept my eyes on my test, didnt look up and hoped the bell would sound. when it did i brought my test to the frount and grabed my backpack. Quickly yet nonchalantly i pulled out my phone to see that it was in fact dying. I felt kinda bad that everyones testing day was pretty much ruined by a deff-like kid whom couldnt hear his own phone, so i told the teacher all that had happened and how it wasnt my fault. Steem almost shot out of her ears by she was understanding.

so i guess you can say my luck with finals has been not the best, but one final doesnt affect the rest. hopeing?praying for the best in all my classes. Thanks to Ms. Leggett the english teacher who put up with me this year and during that test.

                                                                                                        until next time,

It’s Hot

Funny how hot it can get right after you drain your pool and have nowhere to cool down. Because I can’t really describe how hot I am right now this poem might.

                                                           -Highschooler

It’s hot!
I can’t get cool,
I’ve drunk a quart of lemonade,
I think I’ll take my shoes off
And sit around in the shade.

It’s hot!
My back is sticky,
The sweat rolls down my chin.
I think I’ll take my clothes off
And sit around in my skin.

It’s hot!
I’ve tried with ‘lectric fans,
And pools and ice cream cones.
I think I’ll take my skin off
And sit around in my bones.

It’s still hot!

The trecharous task of draining a pool

There are many horrid things in this life, yet none or few come close to haveing to drain and clean an algea-filled pool full of mosquito larve. Yesterday we drianed the pool and that in itself could’nt just be an easy task. We first had to go to a store and rent the pump and hoses, then we set up the nearly 200 feet of drainage tubing and connect the filter tube to a diiferent part of the pipe. we start her up and nothing, just the dull roar of the gasoline engine that ran the pump. looking down at the drainage tube and see it sucking in. My brother and i then switch the two tubes which was easier than i thought would be.

Of coarse it couldn’t be that easy, because when you drain a “water” filled pool where does all 6the water go? Exactly! after the pool had been draining for an hour or so and the hose had been moved around countless times, we realized that there was a large empty lot behind our yard. Why we hadnt thought earlier to put the drainage hos back there, beats me. the end of our troubles, never. we then had to periodicly sweep debres toward the bottom of the still-draining pool and spray it down.

But all that was the easy part. After the pool had drained we called it a day but this didn’t exempt us from a day of duty tomorrow. At around eleven oclock the real “dirty jobs” type work came along. My little brother and me began to shove out loads of alge-filled leaves and dump them into the trash bin we had near the bottom of the pool. Not mention the smell was of dead fish and larve and maggots would sqwiggle along as we picked away at their home.

If you found that disgusting just wiat. The pump could only take out water to a certain level and at the bottom my brother, sister and me did the unthinkable. we grabbed three buckets and each with our bare hansd scooped out water and relayued it off to some one on the top of the pool who would then dump it and drop it back down tothe scooper. after a long while and a few rotations of  job we were at the last bit of “water”

That is when we grabbed smaller cups and sunk our hands into the filthy muck. Filling up the water brought your nose that much closer to the strench we dreaded. With all three of us working hard to finish the day off it was done in no time but i hope to never have to repeat this misery again.

on the bright side I got a great tan.

lifechanging Part 1

there are obviously too many things that are life changing so ill probably set up a new category for LIFECHANGING things (and no i wasnt yelling back there).

some thing I find life changing, and I will extrapolate, are…

1. church: man I could go on and on, because of how broad this subject ranges and ill leave it all for a later post

2. Music: the way good music and beat touch my soul is amazing. some songs I love are: “If I were the boy” By Beyoncé, “Leave out All the Rest” and “Waiting For the End” by Linkin Park and “Take Me In” and “Strong Tower” by Kutless… life changing

3. Books: They provide us with an alternate reality and a way out of an ever-crumbling world. (and yes I made that up myself its mine don’t take it) Favorite series’ Gone series by Michel Grant, Cirque de freak by Darren Shan, Twilight series by Stephanie Mayer, do hard things By the Harris brothers ( they are my inspiration for this blog), and Enders Game by Orson Scott-card.

4. School: hello we spend 7 hours a day , 5 days out of our week, 180+ days a year, and 12+ years of life there! As I’ve said in recent post school shapes and molds us into who we will be or choose to be in the future.

What I want to do with my life

oh my gosh! today was awesome because the airshow was awesome. i think that it confirmed my destiny in life, which is not to spend the rest of my life alone blogging, its being in the military. I think after highschool i want to go to a university and major in aeronautical engineering and move on to go into either the airforce or navy. then after that more school either at West point or Annapolis depending on what i choose and somehow by the grace of God get into NASA. that’s my dream that’s my DESTINY.

have society tell me how lazy teens are now. If you can dream it, then it can happen.

                                                              once again thanks,

                                                                                    highschooler

highschool

highschool is a fun experience that i believe is all about setting you up for life. it is where the cliqes really begin to form and also seperate. it is also then when those whom are smart are seperated from the less smart. however it seems as though eveyone looks down a highschoolers in thier teen years. society looks at us as though we are lazy and  have no motivation to get things done. well guess what! im NOT one of those teens. im starting this blog to give advice to many highschoolers on how to the most of highschool and not live out societie’s version of our teen years!

On a different note i’d like to describe myself. im 14 and i actually don’t like to write but then one long night, i lay awake looking at the cieling and realize that blogging is something i should do. i had the whole idea in my head and i knew that i was gonna write about highschool, a place i spent most of my day at. originally i called my blog “survivingcibola” but as time went on i realized that i wanted a name that would be suitible for every highschooler. and that just it “highschooler.” I like wordpress but i think blogger is easier. the problem i had with blogger.com was that it was too simple, i almost felt limited as to how much i could do.

either way this is obviously my first post but if you do read this i hope you know the words i write are not empty, if you tune in to my blog you will get a lot about highschool and life out of it.

                                                    yours truly,

                                                                   Highschooler

Hello world!

Blogger and wordpress are very different the format of blogger appears to be more user-friendly but it lacks accesability which happens to be key when starting up and try to popularize a new blog. ofcoarse bloggger is easier to edit andadd pictures and widgets. wordpress uses a more complex but still easy format. I dont like how hard it is to put on pictures. without pictures a blog lacks a certain personilization that makes the blog seem, in some ways “legit.”

                                                                 cheers to us,

                                                                                       highschooler

p.s. Having a hard time getting what i mean or why the heck i posted this? You try makeing a blog and use both sites, you’ll find im right. Society would call thiss a rare moment in a teens life.
